My Prayer For The Girls of Kenya

This past Friday 31st May 2013, I had the opportunity to stand in front of thousands of people at Aflewo 2013 and make a prayer and declaration on behalf of the Kenyan girls, young princesses like me. I wrote this out of my thoughts, my prayers and my dreams for the girls of this great nation I am privileged to call home. Here is the full text of my declaration:

Full Text Prayer Narration

I praise the Lord, the Creator of life, the one in whom we live, move and have purpose accomplished.

I, as one of the many Christians girls in Kenya acknowledge God’s sovereignty, His grace, His unending love and unwavering faithfulness. My soul glorifies the Lord just as young Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus did.

I declare that every young Kenyan beauty is not a mistake; she is a blessing. She shall glow with beauty, be a source of inspiration and a source of encouragement to everyone she comes across. She shall be like young Queen Esther, obtaining favor, respect and admiration from those around her. She shall have wisdom well beyond her years, she shall be as loving as a mother, as loyal as a friend and as forgiving as our Lord Jesus. We shall be fruitful as we grow older passing on what our amazing parents, teachers and mentors have taught us, to the next generation, no harm shall befall us, and we will proudly maintain our God-ordained identity, beauty and integrity. We will not be put down by peer pressure but will take a stand for what we know is right. We speak healing in Jesus’ name to every wounded emotion, every broken heart, every physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual scar left behind by physical abuse and molestation.

In this season of Jubilee, we declare freedom, restoration and blessing upon every Kenyan princess that is part of this great Nation. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Music Through My Eyes

There are many different genres of music. I know of Hip-hop, Rap,Reggae, Classic, Opera and Rock just to name a few.

I prefer Rap, Gospel and Soft Rock. What does music mean to you? Most people classify music as either Gospel or Secular, but I see it differently. Music can wholesome and enjoyable, worship and exalting or shallow entertainment. The way I see it music should be classified.

Songs that are inspirational don’t exactly have to be Godly but they have to be able to lift your spirits when you are down or help you see the most important things in life like one I really love called Gift of a Friend by Demi Lovato. This is good music, enjoyable and yet wholesome. I cannot say that of every one of Demi's songs but this one is.

Songs that qualify under worship and exalting are songs that focus praise and worship to our God. I love these kind of songs.

Songs that fall under shallow entertainment are more often than not very destructive. They do not add any value to your life whatsoever and I avoid such. I love my life and do not want to destroy it with shallow stuff.

Songs that are Destructive DON’T add any value to your life no whatsoever. RES[1].

So today I leave you with one challenge from the following kids song:

Oh be careful little ears what you hear,
Oh be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above
Is looking down in love
Oh be careful little ears what you hear
